Enrollment

Knox County Schools assigns students to schools based on the address of the family's primary residence. Students who are zoned for Carter High School and attended a Knox County middle school for 8th grade are automatically enrolled. 

Enrollment for students who are new to the district must completed in person by a parent or legal guardian. The following completed forms are required:

• Students enrolling from outside of KCS schools
• Students transferring from another KCS schools

School transfers may be requested if a family wishes for their student to attend a school different from their zoned school. To apply for a transfer, visit the KCS Transfer Page.
